The Argentine Embassy delivered sports equipment donated by the Argentine Cestoball Confederation to the Family Resource Centre in Nairobi.
The material was received by Lawrence Adera, Director of the community centre and President of the Kenyan Cestoball Federation. The coaches and volunteer sportswomen participated in the meeting, along with the children of the Centre who practice this sport.
The Family Resource Centre is a Christian non-profit institution that generates social inclusion actions for disadvantaged sectors of the community through sport (including Cestoball) and productive projects such as brick making, textile manufacturing and agro-industrial activities.
Mr. Adera thanked for the donation received, in particular the Cestoball balls that are not available in Kenya.
Cestoball is a sport created in Argentina in 1897 by Professor Enrique Romero Brest. Originally it was called Pelota al Cesto. Nowadays it is played in many countries around the world, including Kenya.
