An Argentine delegation made up of ten young sailors, accompanied by coach Lucas Marino and team leader Cecilia Arancibia, delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Optimist African Championship, held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from August 2 to 8 and organized by the Dar es Salaam Yacht Club. The open-format tournament featured participants from more than fifteen countries.

In a competition marked by variable wind and wave conditions, which required great adaptability, Argentina achieved significant results: Catalina Valci was crowned female champion and secured third place overall; Nina Rainieri took third place in the female category; and five of the top ten overall positions went to Argentina.

The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Kenya congratulated the entire delegation for their participation and results, highlighting the dedication of the coaching staff and the commitment demonstrated by the athletes both on and off the water.
