Through a virtual closing ceremony, we celebrated on 5th June the successful conclusion of the South-South triangular regional cooperation project titled ‘‘Strengthening capacity building to improve the livestock systems of smallholder farming and contribute to agri-food sustainability in Kenya and Tanzania’’
During more than two and a half years of partnership, dedication, and shared commitment, expert missions, capacity-building activities, and demonstration plots have turned knowledge into practical results. By bringing together the expertise of Argentina’s INTA, Kenya’s KALRO, and Tanzania’s TALIRI, with the valuable support of GIZ, we have promoted sustainable livestock management practices tailored to the needs of our semi-arid regions.
This collaboration has helped strengthen the resilience of smallholder farmers, improve productivity, and contribute to more sustainable agrifood systems.
This project stands as a powerful example of South-South cooperation in action, fostering the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and expertise between South America and East Africa to strengthen the agricultural sector—an essential pillar of our economies and livelihoods.
