INVAP launches geotechnical studies in Uganda

The Argentine company INVAP has taken a new step in the development of the future Nuclear Science and Technology Centre (CNST) in Uganda by initiating geotechnical studies at the proposed site in July 2025. The first drillings are already underway, marking a turning point for this ambitious project, which represents a strategic transfer of knowledge and technology. This milestone follows over a year of close coordination with local subcontractors. The start of on-site work is a concrete sign of the progress achieved.

Geotechnical studies constitute the most demanding phase of site analysis. This development adds to the delivery of the first version of the Strategic Plan and to the progress made in the preliminary design of the facilities, key components in the roadmap towards a centre that will be essential for the peaceful development of nuclear technology in Uganda.

By reaffirming its commitment to international cooperation, INVAP contributes to the development of sovereign technological capacities in the nuclear sector.
